At Ananterra

Ananterra offers you a luxurious experience amidst coffee plantations, swaying rice fields, tall arecanuts and a working farm

About the Resort

Explore and enjoy silence, nature, and life at the “Ananterra Eco Resort” in Thekkumthara, Wayanad.

Built on a natural slope, the villas are made with as little adverse impact on mother nature as possible. All buildings are made with local or reused materials, including mud excavated from the site itself. We have made use of age old techniques of rammed earth and adobe blocks.

Outstanding views of Kurichiyar mala, Banasura, Kurumbalakkotta and Chembra peak make the region around Thekkumthara unique. One of the few remaining vistas of an ancient Wayanadian lifestyle greets you at Thekkumthara, with swaying rice fields, tall arecanuts, lush coffee plantations, temples and ancient rituals.

A day at Ananterra

While no two days are the same at Ananterra, here's a glimpse of what you can expect here.

Rooster

05:30 AM | Early Rise

You rise to the resident rooster's wake up call with just one thought - "This is looking to be a good day". In a few minutes you join your hosts for a Yoga session.

Intro

06:30 AM | A walk in the clouds

Through a blanket of fog, you choose one of the many trails in the plantation or a guided walk with an expert who will introduce the local flora. Fresh, hot breakfast awaits you on your return

Farming

10:00 AM | Get your hands dirty

Our farm-folk are thrilled to see you join them sowing paddy or reaping cocoa beans. With mud on your feet (and face), you are transferred to a world that is at peace.

01:00 PM | Hunger games

After a relaxing bath your senses are awakened to the smell of fresh spices in authentic Kerala cooking. Lunch prepared from locally sourced ingredients is ready.

Ananterra - Pond

04:00 PM | Something fishy

A good siesta never harmed anyone, and you are all set to enjoy your coracle ride in the reclaimed pond. Sipping on the refreshing karikku (tender coconut), you manage to catch some karimeen (a local fish).

06:00 PM | Make a splash

Serene surroundings, perfect temperature, refreshments at the cabanas - you just don't want to  get out of the pool.

Reading a Book

07:00 PM | A battle of wits

You hand over the karimeen you caught to the chef to be marinated for dinner. While your kids battle it out over a game of Othello, you and your spouse relax over a book at the library

09:00 PM | Hum & Strum

Over the crackling of firewood, there is no better way to end a day than to hum those tunes with your friends over a hot cocoa or something really chilled.
